what I learned this week pt.6

I feel that this week really prepared me to start writing WP2. From looking at style and parallelism on Monday, to reviewing Sandy’s sample paper on Wednesday, I got several ideas to draw from and use in my writing project 2. Reviewing Sandy’s sample paper with my group was probably the most helpful activity this week as it presented me with several tips as to what I should and should not do in my own paper. Looking in depth at someone else’s paper can often help you notice specific details that you might not notice in your own paper. For example, I realized that she didn’t use as much hard evidence as she could’ve, and I did the same thing in my last paper, but didn’t really notice it until I got my grade back with edits from Zack. Its also imperative to discuss with the class what we found about the paper, which we did. The discussion with the whole class after an activity is always my favorite because it gives me insight and opinions from several different people. The activity on stylistic moves that we did from the course reader was also interesting to me. My group had “parallelism” which we had talked about earlier in the class, but doing this activity and having to find examples of it/define it in my own words, helped to solidify my understanding of it. Doing that activity also reminded me of several rhetorical devices that I could potentially use in my wp2. As of now, I feel ready and confident to dive into my WP2 and show Zack some Jrey moves.
